To provide support to staff on ward C24. The post holder will be required to assist with housekeeping duties including dealing with stores, equipment, general stocking up, delivery and collection of urgent requests.
Will also be expected to help with the cleaning duties of the general ward area including the clinic rooms, staff room and ward areas.

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated housekeeper on ward C24.
The 18 bedded unit provides a service caring for emergency general surgery patients encompassing a variety of surgical conditions. This is a challenging busy environment incorporating a supportive multi-professional team. We a a friendly and passionate team and always strive to deliver excellent care to our patients.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
It is essential that you have experience of working in the health care environment and interacting with the general public.
You will be responsible for providing a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Your role will involve managing supplies, equipment and general stock. You will be expected to help keep the ward clean, tidy and well stocked. You will be expected to organise your own workload whilst under supervision from the nursing team.
This role will be shared with our current housekeeper and you will be required to work the set days advertised.

C24 is an 18 bedded surgical ward with a fast turnover of patients, incorporating a supportive multi-professional team. As housekeeper you will be expected to work alongside the team to help give a good standard of care for patients and visitors. We except all staff to provide the excellent care we have come to expect within NUH.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Check in deliveries and supplies and store appropriately.
Maintain levels of clinical and non clinical items.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the general ward areas.
To assist in setting up bed spaces for an admission with supervision from a HCA.
To under messenger, delivery and collection duties or urgent requests, specimens, x-rays, pharmacy items etc.
To maintain clean and tidy bays by promptly cleaning areas after discharges
To relieve nurses of non nursing duties and carry out ad hoc requests.
To complete ward checklists and input information to assist with audits.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
