Are you a Clerk of Works or similar looking for a career move whereby you can lead a team, share your knowledge, and help us to create new homes which improve the lives of our customers?


In this newly created role you will lead a team of Clerk of works on new build developments and be key in ensuring a high-quality inspection service is provided. This role is offered on a permanent hybrid basis working 36.25hrs per week with travel as required across our geography in the Midlands and East of England.

Leading this team you will be accountable for monitoring workloads, providing training and general line management support , monitoring inspections completed, and the reports produced. Focusing on continuous improvement you will help review contract documentation for our more complex schemes and assist the Senior Technical Manager and aftercare teams with any required investigations.

This is a key role within the Group whereby you will also inspect, and test construction works to ensure they meet the required legal and contractual requirements, alongside providing weekly site reports. In this role you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders attending site meetings, project meetings and assisting in design consultations and specification reviews.

To be successful in this role you will need to be confident in working with and training others to use technology such as tablets You will need to maintain your knowledge and of current construction techniques and have demonstrable experience of inspecting construction works.


You will have built up a knowledge of masonry and timber frame construction methods and have a current knowledge of NHBC requirements and building regulations. You will be an excellent communicator possessing good negotiation skills and be confident in leading and developing a team.

Whilst not essential, it would be desirable for the successful application to be a member of either the Institute of Clerk of works, RICS, or CIOB with an understanding of health and safety requirements such as SMSTS or NEBOSH.
