We are looking for experienced waiting staff for Chishuru, our modern west African restaurant led by chef Joké Bakare. The restaurant operates MONDAY TO FRIDAY ONLY. We are recruiting for part-time employees to work 2-3 evenings per week (shifts start at 5pm and finish by 11.30pm latest).
Previously trading in Brixton, Chishuru was named TimeOut London's best restaurant of 2022, and listed at #93 in the National Restaurant Awards 2022. We featured in every list of "2023's hottest new openings" and we've had lots of brilliant press coverage since we opened in September this year.
We offer a set menu only, with frequently changing dishes. We are therefore looking for someone who is interested in learning about a new cuisine and is happy to answer lots of questions from our lovely customers. An interest in French wine would be helpful too. Our style is warm and relaxed but efficient.
You must have 1+ years table service restaurant experience to apply please - you'll need to know how to open and serve a bottle of wine, for example, and you must know hospitality jargon like '86'. We are not looking for people who have only worked in quick service restaurants / retail / pubs.
The hourly rate is made up of minimum wage plus service charge, dependent on the restaurant's performance.
